The Winter Parking Ban is an effect. Vehicles parked on the street between 1 and 7 AM are subject to fines. Any vehicles parked on the street during a snow emergency may be fined and towed.
Motor Officers
The Winchester Police Department actively utilizes 5 officers who are specially trained motorcycle officers. During a regular motor shift, motor officers concentrate on traffic control and selective enforcement. They are also used during special situations such a funeral escorts and parades. One WPD motor officer is a member of the NEMLEC Motor Unit, which is a specialized unit composed of a group of highly trained group of officers from 21 jurisdictions.
