Medication Take Back Program

Posted By Winchester Police on April 25th, 2017

The Medication Take Back program, sponsored by the Winchester Coalition for a Safer Community, the Winchester Police Department and the US Drug Enforcement Administration will take place on Saturday April 29th from 9 AM-1 PM just outside the gates of the Transfer Station.  Please turn in any unused or expired medications and prescriptions from your homes on this date.  Needles will also be collected at this time.  Please bring needles either in a Sharp’s container or any sealed, hard sided plastic container.

The event is free of charge.

Please keep in mind that the Winchester Police Department has two kiosks in our front lobby in case people can not make it to the event.

Finally, we are piloting a new program this year and partnering with the Coalition for a Safer Community and the Jenk’s Senior Center and providing sealable plastic bags to our senior citizens in the community who can not get out to drop off their medications.  Bags will be distributed by the Jenks Center and collected by Sgt. Perenick and a second officer in a timely manner.  All inquiries should be directed to the Jenks Center at 781-721-7136.  The Jenks Center has the bags and a sign up list.

**The Police Department is not involved in signing people up or giving out bags**

Any further questions, please contact Sgt. Perenick
